TIELLO DJ

Our first client, a young DJ with a great personality, was the perfect project to get our feet wet. He was working on his first EP and had some ideas about how he wanted to represent himself visually. We needed to create a brand identity that stood out from the other DJs in the city, and we knew it had to be something that would transfer well across multiple platforms.

His talent and intelligence were immediately apparent, and we were thrilled when he asked us to work with him on marketing materials for his projects. He has since become a dear friend.

 

He is a meticulous individual—he knows exactly where every button is on his laptop, and he's always able to lay out his workflow easily for us to understand. He has an acute visual sense and spends long periods of time just listening to music or watching his favorite films. He knows what he wants from a visual standpoint, but he also respects the importance of communication with designers, so he will always meet us halfway.

 

The best part about working with him was that once we started developing a graphic language for his projects—a system that would span all of his marketing materials—we noticed that it was easy to apply this system not only to everything related to his music, but to things like his website as well. That said, every project had its own unique challenges: the EP covers were more straightforward (and more fun) than the complex posters for live shows.
